Rant ‘n’ Stance! – This is Just Too BiCzar!

I’m starting a new feature on this blog, titled “Rant ‘n’ Stance.” No, it’s not going to be a weekly always there like clockwork feature like “The Adventures of Adam Atom” or “Hilarious Hump Day” or “A Saturday Pontification” – it’ll be more of a rant whenever I feel like it kinda thang.

Why? Cuz I can’t sit by and take it up the wazoo any longer without spouting off and doing something about all the BS goin’ down in this country and world any longer. Not in my blood. My old protesting  Hippie/Yippie self is resurfacing and I just gotta spout off and stir things up like back in the day. We need a return to the passion for social/political/spiritual change that we had back in the 60’s. I even – don’t know if you noticed, but I changed the blog purpose statement a while back to allow for such heated rants commentaries. So there. This is my blog and I’ll rant if I want to.

And I got a whole humugous drawer full of topics that need cussin’ at discussing. I was going to go off on ACORN again, but I’m currently gathering data on that one. Shocking new stuff has come out about that despicable organization, but I want to have my facts straight before I mouth off. But here’s the thing’s got my balding head in a tither right now-

All the president’s Czars.

Barack Obama has appointed to his staff, in less than one year of his term, nearly three dozen – count ’em – 34 total – Czars. What is a Czar? Here’s the Wikipedia definition:

Czar or tsar is an informal title for certain high-level officials in the United States and United Kingdom. Political czars can run or organize governmental departments, and may devote their expertise to a single area of work.”

Now presidents in the past have had Czars. Usually one, two, maybe as many as a dozen. Czars are not new to this land. But why the need for 34? What possible reason can there be for so many of them – that serves the interests of our voting population? And mind you, keep this firmly in mind, these Czars are not voted in by the people, they are not answerable to the senate or house of representatives, they are not held accountable by our constitutionally mandated political system of checks and balances. No. They answer to Obama and that’s it. You don’t like what they do with their power? Tough cookies. Nothin’ you can do about it. Can’t vote ’em out, writing your congressperson does nothing – – hell, march on Washington if you want to. They are all the President’s Men (and women) and they are not for the people, of the people, and by the people.

Watch this short clip-

This president has an agenda. An agenda that, in order to be carried out, has to circumvent congress and due political process. An agenda that he will carry out using his own appointed people, not those who we voted into office. I mean, hell’s bells – a 31 year old kid put in charge of our automobile industry? Doesn’t know a lug nut from a fuel injector and never ran a business before? Hmmm – yeah I’m real comfortable with that.

And don’t get me started on this preposterous health care program that Pres & His Czars are attempting with all their considerable might and clout to ram down our sore, Swine Flu infected throats. That’s another rant – coming soon to a blog near you.

We can still vote for impeachment. I think it’s time everyone knew about this. I don’t know enough to write a rant but I’ll help you with yours. This is dispicable (you can spell it correctly, I can’t, at 6 am).

Are these birdbrains, er, tsars, even legal? They don’t even have them in Russia!

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 7:24 am

They are not ILegal, Ron – they are sort of loophole legal from what I can gather. Advisors mostly in the past so no one cared much. But with this number of them and them being given POWER to RUN things – hey – it’s time to shout this out and do something about it.

  2. Cactus Annie / Oct 2 2009 7:16 am

I was watching a Glenn Beck show on this – it’s shocking. NO president has ever appointed so many czars and NO presidents has ever put so many czars in CHARGE of major portions of our economy! It is, I agree, totally out of hand and seems somehow politacally sneaky – even evil feeling.

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 7:25 am

Yes, Cactus – one gets a VERY evil foreboding feeling when people we have no idea who they are or what they stand for are just “appointed” positions of power in this country. Not right.

  3. John Standish / Oct 2 2009 7:38 am

Preposterous, outrageous, and … is this not unconstitutional? Hardly seems like it matters anymore – what is consitutional or not. Good lord!

  4. Jeannine Gardella / Oct 2 2009 10:08 am

When and where does the revolution begin?

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 10:55 am

It begins with you and me and anyone else who’s willing to stand up and shout out against this travesty in the making, Jeannine. Edward Burke said, “All that it takes for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing.”

  5. Stanley Berber / Oct 2 2009 10:51 am

It’s all part of the New World Order. Free democracy is on the way out, socialism is on the way in, and by the time the Bilderberg group has its way (with our president’s help and good graces) there’ll no longer be a middle class. It’ll be the elite super rich and the lower class workers that serve them. Brave New World, eh? And hardly nobody seems to know or give a damn about it. Sad.

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 10:58 am

Well I see SOMEBODY is doing his homework and keeping himself informed. Good man, Stan the Man! 😉

  6. Stephen Tremp / Oct 2 2009 10:54 am

“a 31 year old kid put in charge of our automobile industry? Doesn’t know a lug nut from a fuel injector and never ran a business before?”

You think that’s bad, we have a guy running this country with no experience, voted PRESENT 130 times when he was in Congress, and was basically a community organizer.

Yep, we’re in a world of deep doo doo.

    Stephen Tremp

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 10:57 am

Got that right, Stephen. Nobody sees the puppet strings attached to our leaders anymore – well, SOME of us do, right?

  7. Elizabeth Spann Craig / Oct 2 2009 1:39 pm

I read an article recently on the czar phenom…very odd. I’m not sure how this all evolved. Besides, I thought czars were Russian. 🙂

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 2:46 pm

Nope we got ’em here, too, Elizabeth. In DROVES it seems now, under this new administration!

  8. Katrina Wampler / Oct 2 2009 2:50 pm

I don’t even know how to respond. I get so angry when I think of what that idiot is doing to our country and now to see this… argh. I could have been a redhead!

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 2:58 pm

Well you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet, my dear redhead. 😉

  9. heidiwriter / Oct 2 2009 3:52 pm

Go, Marvin, go!! We have to be a grassroots movement. What we are seeing is just the tip of the iceberg. And it is scary!

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 7:36 pm

Heidi, scary indeed – and I can tell a fellow (feminine? lol) old Hippie when I read one! 😉

  10. Crystal Clear Proofing / Oct 2 2009 4:37 pm

Count me in on the bandwagon here. It’s time we take our country back (when’s the last time we had it anyway?) But the point is that things are just completely and totally out of control. It’s going to take a lot of people taking a stand – but this is how it starts. With people like us who CARE and give a d*mn. People really need to wake up, pay attention and take a LOOK at what’s going on – in OUR country!!

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 7:37 pm

Right on, Crystal – you are so spot right on, gf.

  11. Galen Kindley / Oct 2 2009 4:45 pm

Well, every revolution needs a leader. Hmmmm. I wonder who might fit the bill for this one? Me? No, too placid–not to mention no charisma. That would leave…? Marv, are you available.

    Best Regards, Galen

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 6:53 pm

Yeah I’m available, but I need a Chief Minister at Arms with a military background like you, Sir Galen, so I’ll be calling you for the position. 😉

  12. yvonne lewis / Oct 2 2009 5:55 pm

Our politicians are just as bad over here, I’m sure they don’t know what they’re talking about.

    PSl loved the rant.

    • theoldsilly / Oct 2 2009 6:54 pm

Thanks, Yvonne, and it’s good to know (in a “misery enjoys company way”) that we’re not the ONLY country with politicians that cannot be trusted.

  13. Michael Burke / Oct 2 2009 7:33 pm

Found your blog doing a Google search on Obama and all his Czars and hey dude – right on with this post. This is ridiculous and needs to be called out. Like we said in the 60’s, Right On Man!

  14. Patricia Stoltey / Oct 3 2009 12:06 am

Me, too, Marvin. I get upset about something new every single day. I’d be in favor or voting out every senator and representative that has served more than one term in Congress. This nonsense has gone on long enough.

    • Lynn Henriksen / Oct 3 2009 11:59 am

Patricia, I think a whole lot of people agree with you, but the trouble is that voting them all out & starting over is simply not going to happen. All we can do is to vote our hearts and minds in every single election from here on out. Can you see congress putting term limits or salary limits on themselves or accepting the same health care they’d like to hang around the necks of their constituents? I hope we’ll show them that we are not as stupid as they think we are – and I believe we will.

I have faith in the people of the United States of America – we are good and strong and generous and slowly awakening to the fact that we won’t recognize our country very soon, if we don’t act in a positive way. I think act is the key – no more time to simply complain, we need to use our votes – each vote does, indeed, count.

I’m an independent and I usually never respond to political comments, but this has gone way too far into Never-Never-Land. Anyway, I don’t think it’s a matter anymore of political parties, it’s a matter of preserving our freedom plain and simple.

I wonder who taught “them” that spending your way out of debt works. It sure doesn’t in my family. How about yours?

      Okay, that’s it.

    • theoldsilly / Oct 3 2009 4:25 pm

Patricia – I KNEW you’d have something about this, being from the 60’s like me. Yeah, about time for some change, eh?

And Lynn? You go, girlfriend! Tell it like it is!
