Saturday Pontifications – A Wonderful Sister

Today’s words of wisdom are from the mind and heart of one of the Mother Theresamost wonderful, spiritual, and compassionate women to have lived in the 20th century – or any century for that matter, Mother Theresa.

“I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world.”

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

“I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next door neighbor?”

“God doesn’t require us to succeed; he only requires that you try.”

“Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired.”

Here’s one that I personally can relate to a whole heckuva lot-

“I know God will not give me anything I can’t handle. I just wish that He didn’t trust me so much.”

And lastly for today, one of my favorites, something Mother Theresa said when asked about the condition of humankind in general, from good people to bad and everywhere in between:

“Each one of them is Jesus in disguise.”

All are so very true. Live a little, laugh a lot. Keep a smile on your face and your day and your life will be much smoother.

LOVE these quotes! Mother Theresa was indeed a true example of what a Christian should be. Thanks for the morning inspirations, Marv.

Wonderful words of wisdom to live by. I too especially love that last one. Everyone has Christ potential – just so often burried beneath tons of misguided focus and bad karma. Thanks for these, Marvin! Well, thank Theresa first, but also you for bringing her compassionate words back into our attention. 🙂

Ah yes – Mother Theresa. Would that more Christians would better follow her example, myself included. Great words and reminders, Marv.

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

    Oh my zombie!

That is THE zombie philosophy. That’s why they don’t understand why living persons are reluctant to give them a bite or two.

    Tsk. Tsk.

The zombies knew it all along.

    (hee hee?)

Quirkster, please … you REALLY need to get back to group. Pick you up at 6 tonite? I’ll take you personally. Sessions are right there near you – but you have to take that first step back, hun! 😉

My pastor met Mother Theresa once while in India years ago. He has a banner in one of the mercy warehouses with a quote she gave to him, “Look, See, Do Something About It.”

I love the one about “love”!

Poor Quirky “loves” her zombies. Somebody has to so let’s cut her some slack. 😉
