Winners Never Quit and Quitters Never Win

As we draw to the end of 2009 and many of us make resolutions for what we want to accomplish and achieve in the “New” Year – (whatever that really means – but that’s another muse and post), I thought I’d share this clip that I recently came across. We all want to win in life, in career, in relationships, in accomplishments. But it’s all about attitude, about having a “never say die” posture, grit and determination to see it to the finish line, no matter what. And, it’s all about caring for and helping others in their achievements as well, is it not? Enjoy this – it exemplifies the true heart of a champion and also the undaunted desire of a father to help his son in trying times.

He’s a winner in my book. Son and father. Ever suffer a pulled hamstring? I have. You can’t do so much as sit on a toilet without crying out in pain. Mobility is out of the question for anyone faint of heart. Yet this young man would not be denied making it to the finish line. And the father – waving off security, refusing to be denied the opportunity to assist his beloved son in finishing a lifelong dream with valor. A stirring example of courage, determination, integrity, and compassion, hmm?

Wonderful sendoff of 2009! That is a moment that should inspire us all. Quitting is the only way we truly fail.

A good ending to 2009: I aim to go to confront my estranged son in Spain,……whatever the outcome I can say I have done my best.

    Happy New Year Marvin.

It’s always good to see a paent getting involved in theiri kids lives. too many dads tend to ignore the fact that they have offspring.

Aw, that was awesome! Sweet and inspirational.

My goal? Don’t start. Then I don’t have to worry about quitting.
